5 cocktail recipes for Christmas

The cocktails we show you how to make in this post can be prepared by yourself at home, but with a very special Christmas touch. Do you want to leave your guests open-mouthed? Wish granted.

  • Vesper Martini

James Bond's favourite cocktail, did you know that? Agent 007 likes it shaken, never stirred, but always with quality ingredients like the ones you'll find in our shop.

  • Fill your shaker two-thirds full with ice.
  • Add 90 ml of gin, 30 ml of vodka and 15 ml of white vermouth.
  • Shake for about 30 seconds and pour the mixture without the ice into a cocktail glass.
  • You can garnish with lemon peel.
  • Christmas tip: before serving, wet the rim of the glass with the drink and decorate it with red sugar (you can use food colouring).

  • Candy Cane

The candy cane cocktail is perfect for the festive season. It is so called because that is the name given to these characteristic sweets in English.

  • Crush a couple of candy canes in a food processor.
  • Heat a saucepan with the juice of a lemon and a teaspoon of white sugar.
  • When a light syrup has formed, remove from the heat, pour into a dish and leave to cool.
  • Dip the rim of the glass into the syrup and then immediately into the crushed sticks to make them stick.
  • Half fill the shaker with ice.
  • Add 90 ml vodka, 90 ml white chocolate liqueur and 90 ml peppermint liqueur.
  • Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  • Pour the mixture into the glasses that you have decorated with the sticks.

  • Bellini

It was created by Giuseppe Cipriano in Harry's Bar, a cultural hub of the 1940s and 1950s, frequented by the likes of Hemingway and Orson Welles.

Today's recipe is adapted to the Christmas season, when we can't buy peaches in season.

  • Drain 3 peaches in syrup and cut into 1 cm thick strips.
  • Put sugar on a plate and dip the peach strips in it.
  • Transfer to parchment paper and leave in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Fill the glass with well-chilled cava or champagne and place three pieces of peach on each of them.
  • Christmas tip: because of its ingredients, this cocktail is perfect for an after-dinner toast.

  • Christmas Punch

OK, it's not exactly a cocktail, but it's Christmassy and gives that American touch to the table that elevates any dinner party, so it works for us.

  • Split a vanilla pod in half and infuse it in milk. In other words, bring a saucepan to the boil with 350 ml of whole milk, the vanilla and 2 pieces of lemon peel. When it comes to the boil, set aside and reserve.
  • You will need 4 eggs: separate the whites from the yolks. Keep the egg whites in the fridge and beat the yolks with 80 g of sugar until fluffy.
  • Strain the milk, add the egg yolk mixture and the sugar and beat well until you get a sort of cream.
  • Add 50 ml rum, mix well and set aside to cool.
  • Beat the egg whites until stiff.
  • Christmas tip: mix sugar and cinnamon on a plate, dip the rim of the glass with a slice of lemon and dip it in the mixture to garnish.

  • Classic Gin Tonic

We love to innovate, but we know that the most traditional gin and tonic never disappoints. And after a hearty meal, it's a very common request.

  • Take a balloon or cider glass and add 5 or 6 pieces of large, compact ice.
  • Put one whole slice of lemon and two smaller slices of lime.
  • Rub the rim of the glass with one of them and squeeze a few drops of the lemon into the glass.
  • Add 50 to 60 ml of gin, no more.
  • Incorporates the tonic directly from bottle to glass
  • With the help of a teaspoon, turn the mixture a quarter turn, no more.
  • Christmas tip: Add botanicals, such as cinnamon, ginger or cardamom for a more intense flavour...
