Sancerre is another appellation of origin (AOC) located in the Loire Valley, France, famous for its white wines, mainly made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape. Like Pouilly-Fumé, Sancerre wines have a fresh, fruity and mineral profile, but they tend to have a slightly more citric and less smoky character. In addition, Sancerre also produces some red and rosé wines, made from the Pinot Noir grape. This region is known for its calcareous soils, which contributes to the acidity and freshness of its wines.
Tasting note
THE NOSE
The nose is sustained and assertive with lemony aromas accompanied by notes of blackcurrant buds.
THE MOUTH
The first sensations on the palate reveal a subtle aromatic palette, with a powerful anchoring around the aromas of 'lemon sorbet'.
