At HG Mallorca we are known for being wine distributors in Mallorca but did you know that there are many more drinks in our catalogue? One of our favourites is beer, which is why we enjoyed preparing this post so much.
What are the best imported beers?
Both if you have a hospitality businessWhether you like to enjoy it alone or with friends, distinguishing a good beer is the key to a successful choice.
To identify a good beer, look at these aspects:
- Aroma: Just the smell of the malt gives you an idea of what you are going to drink. If the aroma you get when you open the bottle is bad or strange, it is probably a poor quality beer.
- Colour: if when you move the liquid its colour changes a little and does not stay the same throughout the bottle, be suspicious. As a curious fact, the colour is provided by the malts. If we leave them at a higher kilning temperature, we will obtain darker colours.
- Flavour: There is no single taste in beer, as there are a multitude of types and varieties. What we can tell you is that if the taste is very slight or barely noticeable, the quality is not adequate.
- Foam: A good beer has a light foam consistency that takes a long time to dissipate. When we drink, there should be a small trace left on the mouth of the bottle or the rim of the glass.
Top 5 imports

- Warsteiner: A very refreshing premium pilsner beer, perfect to accompany a meal. It has been brewed in Germany since 1753, with a strong malt presence and a slightly bitter finish.
- Nortada: a Portuguese lager with fine notes of roasted malt and a vibrant copper colour. A craft beer that was born in 2017 from the hands of two experts in the sector who had always dreamed of having their own brand.
